Modular construction. Maximum speed. Highest free volume. Balanced design of the drive power. Maximum life cycle. Optimal size increases. reliable scale-up. flexible control system.
Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer is the technology leader in the area of twin-screw compounder systems. Many technical achievements and in-novations have been developed by Coperion – including the ZSK MEGAvolume. With special dimensions of screw volumes, screw speed and torque, this series offers many advantages in numerous applications.

| Screw volumes. | | |
Due to the deeper cut screw channels with a Do / Di ratio of 1.8, the free volume is considerably higher.
The advantages are:
| - | | Improved feed intake of materials with a low bulk densities, e.g., flours and starches |
| - | | Lower Shear Stresses |
| - | | Reduced thermal stress of the raw material |
| - | | Higher residual time for reaction processes |
| Screw speed. | | |
The ZSK MEGAvolume-series is designed for speeds up to 1,800 rpm.
The advantages are:
| - | | Economical cost / performance ratio |
| - | | Increase in performance with the samemachine size by 3-4 times |
| - | | Lower investment and operational costs with smaller machine sizes at the same throughput |
| - | | Increased throughput range |
| Torque. | | |
The specific torque of the ZSK MEGA-volume (Md / a³ = 8.7 Nm /cm³), in comparison to the Continua (Md / a³ = 4.3 Nm / cm³), produces economic and technical process improvements for processes at torque limits.
The advantages are:
| - | | Considerably higher throughputs |
| - | | Greater residence time and higher screw speed range with critical and sensitive products |

All sizes can be designed with separate controls. The ZSK in compact-version, up to size 76, can be shipped with an integrated control system. This compact-version allows for a fast and easy start-up, which increases flexibility and cost effectiveness.
