Simulation of compounding processes

We have another possibility for detailed examination of techniques and processes in addition to the test series in our Test Labs. Here we rely on our own simulation technology developments which enable us to calculate the flow processes in the twin screw extruder process section accurately. The results achieved form the basis for optimization of processes or the design of individual plant parts.

Reliable scale-up from the laboratory to the production scale

For the further development of extruder series, we always rely on the consistency of important parameters which ensure the scale-up from the lab extruder to the production scale. Both the diameter ratio Da/Di which determines the free volume of the twin screws in the process section and the specific torque are constant respectively for all sizes of our extruder series.

This way, we are able to guarantee the reliable scale-up from the knowledge gained on a laboratory scale to production plants – for example, screw configurations or product formulation proportions can be scaled up from small to large sizes.
