Coperion Management

Günter Bachmann joined Coperion in July 2004 as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In July 2007 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Coperion, Günter Bachmann was for four years Chairman of the Executive Board of Heraeus Tenevo AG, a subsidiary of Heraeus Group and a producer of synthetic silica glass used for fibre optic cables. From 1999 to 2001, he was President of Heraeus Quarzglas GmbH, a subsidiary of Heraeus Holding. His extensive experience in the equipment and materials industry also includes seven years as President and CEO of Leybold Materials Inc. and Leybold Systems GmbH, and more than 15 years in Asia and the USA as CEO and Managing Director of various companies.

Thomas Kehl is responsible for the Competence Center Service and for the compounding & extrusion equipment (technical and special applications). He joined Coperion in 2008. Prior to joining Coperion, he was for four years Managing Director of Rieter Automatik and Senior Vice President of Rieter AG in Switzerland. His extensive experience in the industry includes two years as CEO of Freudenberg Nonwovens and several executive positions within the Hoechst Group and their subsidiaries. His international experience includes five years in various management positions in the USA.

Axel Kiefer is responsible for the Competence Center Materials Handling and for compounding systems for the polyolefin industry. He joined Coperion (initially Waeschle GmbH) in 1997 and held various management positions within the group. Prior to joining Coperion, he worked for an industrial plant engineering company, Kraftanlagen AG, Heidelberg/Germany, as commercial project manager.
