  • Field Service Technician (USA)

    Your tasks:

    • Adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, inspecting, lubrication, and testing of equipment.

    • Problem diagnosis including electrical/mechanical and electronics troubleshooting. Must be able to be innovative to remedy a situation so the customer may resume operations. 

    • Maintain frequent contact with the office to receive service assignments and review service problems with advisor, supervisor or manager. 

    • Consistently achieve or surpass weekly productivity and service labor revenue goals assigned by management. 

    • Maintain working knowledge of latest modifications, retrofit, etc. for equipment assigned to service. 

    • Assist others on equipment installations or in performing major repair assignments. Maintain a working knowledge of parts stocking and identification methods. 

    • Satisfactorily complete maintenance, sanitation and audio/visual field training as required. 

    • May work overtime with short notice, as required, including on call assist in developing sales leads for contracts, etc. 

    • Assist, as necessary, with product demonstrations at customer locations and at trade shows. 

    • Comply with all safety standards. 

    • Perform PLC and HMI programming. 

    • 75% domestic and international travelMay work on-site for up to 4-6 weeksExtended hour work weeks (average 60-65 hours) 

     

    Basic Qualifications: 

    • High School Diploma or GED. 

    • 5+ years as an assembler, electrician or welder. 

    • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills when work with internal and external customers. 

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word and Excel. 

    • Strong problem-solving skills. 

    • Excellent customer interaction skills. 

    • Ability to work independently and display sound judgment on high-profile projects that can vastly impact financial results and customer relations. 

    • Must be able to furnish required hand tools for their role. (A list of tools is available upon request.) 

    • Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs with or without assistance. 

    • Must be able to climb up an 8 ft. with ladder 

     

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Rockwell Logix and factory talk experience preferred. 

    • Strong electrical skills, including ability to troubleshoot and basic PLC knowledge. 

    • Knowledge of bakery process and automation processes desired. 

    • Strong welding and fabrication skills. 

    • Strong mechanical ability, such as pneumatics, hydraulics, and general fabrication.  

    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 

    • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • ZSK Service Engineer - Mechanical (China)

    Your tasks:

    • Conduct on-site service for Coperion components (extruder, screen pack changer, hydraulic system, feeding system), this comprises maintenance, installation, start-up, commissioning, trouble-shooting and training.
    • Supervise and execute mechanical installation and commissioning of Coperion extruder systems.
    • Ensure that the installation quality is consistent with the project requirements.
    • Follow-up projects until completion and issue technical service reports as proper project-related documentation.
    • Participate the Global Large Projects by Assistance to German site manager and co-ordination of daily performances with contractors

     

    Education:

    Graduated from College or above, majored in Mechanical Engineering

     

    Experience: 

    Strong mechanical background on installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment.
    At least 3 years working experience, in the petrochemical sector is prefer.

    Experience with gearbox repairing and on site project management is an advantage.

     

    Critical knowledge and Skills:

    • Ability to independently analyze problems on site. Customer solutions shall be proposed and carried out in close communication with the Service departments both in Nanjing and Germany.
    • Strong communication skills, result-oriented and with team-spirit, initiative working attitude and high motivation.
      Willingness to travel frequently up to 60% on yearly basis
    • Have good English language skills; both in speaking and writing are mandatory.
    • Having certain knowledge for extruder system and understanding of PI&D drawings.

    Work You’ll Do:

    • Represent Coperion K-Tron in the capacity of Service Representative providing assistance and advice to customers and/or assigned personnel, including identifying opportunities to cross or upsell equipment improvements Provide feedback on information received in the field on Coperion K-Tron equipment and others.
    • Install, troubleshoot, overhaul, maintain, adjust, and/or modify Coperion K-Tron equipment as required to meet the customers’ process needs.
    • Assist customers to start-up newly installed equipment and train customer personnel as needed.  Participation in classroom type training may be required.
    • Must be responsible, dependable, plus safety-minded and work in accordance with all Coperion K-Tron policies and standards as well as adhere to all customer safety, drug, and alcohol control regulations and procedures.
    • Must be willing to work flexible hours (holidays, weekends) and travel extensively in accordance with field service travel regulations while managing individual travel and expense budget based on Company guidelines; must have a driver's license with clean driving record and valid passport.
    • When not on travel assignment, provide on-call assistance to customers via various channels (phone, email, video call, etc.), assist with service report preparation and distribution, create field information packages for self, team, or the Company, and/or other related tasks.
    • Keep accurate records by providing highly detailed reports and submitting them to appropriate partners in a timely manner.

  • Site Supervisor Senior Technician (Italy)

    Position Summary: 

    Coperion is looking for a Site Supervisor Senior Technician to join our Field Service Team in Ferrara/ Italy. As Site Supervisor Senior Technician, you will be responsible for visiting the customers in the field to managing the process of installation and commissioning / testing new systems and machines/ supervising sub-contractors and staff /training customers / managing claims on site. In addition, you will carry out after-sales service operations (inspection, maintenance, calibration, etc.) at customers' premises. When not traveling, the Site Supervisor Senior Technician will perform various service tasks including, but not limited to: completing post-visit documentation including trip reports and expense reports, promoting jobs case-review with Engineering local team to prevent future troubleshooting.

     

    Work You’ll Do:

    • Gather all the technical information and documentation needed to manage site activities and in relation to the complexity of the activities to be carried out
    • Plan and coordinates all site requirements (resources, materials, equipment, utilities, etc.), taking part in periodic collective planning and coordination meetings with the customer. Manages all planning change requests and additional requests with the client.
    • Check the quality of the work carried out by subcontractors
    • Verifie the completeness of the installation by taking responsibility for the subsequent testing and acceptance phase
    • Participate in the I/O check phase or, if already performed by the customer, performs the no-load functional test of all equipment.
    • Check the sequences in relation to the functional description. If software changes are necessary, interfaces with the software engineer to make the changes, informing the automation manager in advance.
    • Fill out the work acceptance form and submits it to the customer for signature. In the event of a punch list, coordinates the necessary actions with the site manager and the project manager
    • Document the hours worked on site work carried out on site by means of periodic reports , submits them to the client for signature/approval and sends them to the PROJECT MANAGERS and the FIELD SERVICE MANAGER

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High School diploma in technical disciplines (mechanical or mechatronics technician)
    • Some years of professional experience in a similar position and same or similar business area
    • Work experience of on-site construction, installation and commissioning works as well as of calculations, tenders, suppliers’ contracts, etc.
    • Good knowledge in MS Office and MS project
    • Skills in negotiation and stress management
    • Fluent skills in English and Italian
    • Willingness to travel worldwide

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • In addition to Italian and English, nice to have knowledge of a third language
    • Experience working in a safety-driven environment (Health & Safety’s training certifications such as SCC certificate are appreciated)
