Purpose and legal basis: When you access our website, i.e. even if you have not registered in advance or provided us with data in any other way, log data and device information, such as browser type and browser version, the operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and the IP address are automatically recorded. The aforementioned data is automatically stored and transmitted to us in the form of server log files and is used to ensure basic technical functions. Without this data, the functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed, which may result in individual services being unavailable or restricted.
Your personal data is processed in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website as well as ensuring system security and detecting misuse.
Recipients & Third country transfer: For the operation and maintenance of our website, we use technical service providers who process personal data on our behalf (data processors). These service providers are contractually obligated, by means of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR, to treat personal data confidentially and to process it solely in accordance with our instructions.
Where personal data is transferred to third countries or accessed from such countries, this is carried out on the basis of appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR, in particular through the conclusion of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or, where applicable, on the basis of an adequacy decision.

In the case of the storage of data in server log files, this is the case after 14 days at the latest. Storage beyond this period is possible. In this case, the IP addresses of the users are anonymized so that it is no longer possible to identify the accessing client.
Profiling: We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person, but we reserve the right to check server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.
Objection: You can object to the use of your personal data for the above-mentioned purpose at any time or request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for the provision of our services or for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an email with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.

In addition, these technologies help us to better understand user activities and patterns and to enable online advertising and are used in this context for the operation of Google Analytics and Remarketing (see sections Website analytics and Remarketing).
Depending on their function and purpose, cookies can be divided into four categories: Technically necessary cookies, analytics/statistics cookies, functional cookies and ads cookies.

- Analysis/statistics cookies: These cookies collect information about the use of the website, e.g. which pages are visited most frequently and how visitors move around the website. They help us to better understand user behavior on our websites in order to improve the user-friendliness of the website and thus the user experience. If the data processed with the help of analysis/statistics cookies can be directly assigned to you or is otherwise to be regarded as personal, the data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. If this does not apply, we use analysis and statistics cookies based on our legitimate interest in coordinating different tools, managing the website, and ensuring its user-friendliness and proper display, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
- Functional cookies: These cookies enable a website to remember an input or selection you have made (such as username, language or geographical region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features to the user. They are also used to enable requested functions such as playing videos. If the data processed with the help of functional cookies can be directly assigned to you in individual cases or can otherwise be regarded as personal, the data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
- Ads cookies: Ads cookies are used to display advertisements on third-party websites that are more relevant to the user and their interests. They are also used to limit the frequency with which an advertisement appears and to measure and control the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
If you have accepted the use of ads cookies in the cookie consent tool, the data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
More detailed information about the cookies we use can be found in our “Consent Management” tool (cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the website) or in our cookie policy.
Recipients and third country transfers: For the operation and maintenance of our website, we use technical service providers who process personal data on our behalf (data processors). These service providers are contractually obligated, by means of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR, to treat personal data confidentially and to process it solely in accordance with our instructions.
In addition, we use services provided by Google LLC, particularly in the area of web analytics (e.g. in connection with Google Analytics). Information generated by cookies and similar technologies regarding the use of this website may be transferred to and processed on servers in the United States.
It therefore cannot be ruled out that personal data may be transferred to third countries or accessed from such countries.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The tools we use help us to analyze usage behavior on our website with the aim of continuously improving it. Google Analytics collects personal data, including browser information, click path, date and time of the visit, location information, internet service provider, IP address or visit duration are collected using cookies, which are then displayed in various reports. The Google Tag Manager is used to manage and trigger different website tags, such as tracking and marketing tags. These are small snippets of code that can track user behavior (e.g., clicking specific buttons).
If you have accepted the use of the above-mentioned cookies in the cookie consent tool, the data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Recipients and third country transfers: In the context of using Google Analytics, personal data is transferred to Google LLC as the provider of the service. Google processes this data on our behalf in order to analyze the use of our website and to compile reports on website activity.

4 . Remarketing
Purpose and legal basis: We commission our advertising partners, including third-party providers (such as Google) and social media companies, to place ads with a remarketing option. For this purpose, the user's interactions on our website, such as the products and services they are interested in, are analyzed. This enables us to present interest-based advertisements to users of our website on other websites in the Google Display Network, such as Google Search or YouTube. For this purpose, we use a so-called tracking pixel on our website, which collects the data and sends it to the Google ad server to display personalized ads.
If you have accepted the use of the above-mentioned cookies in the cookie consent tool, the data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Recipients and third country transfers: For websites in the Google Display Network where we make cross-border data transfers, we ensure that relevant safeguards are in place to ensure adequate protection for personal data.

5 . InFocus Newsletters and Promotional E-Mails
Purpose and legal basis: Coperion regularly sends information mailings and our inFocus newsletter to customers or interested parties in order to inform them about innovations, offers and events. If you would like to receive the inFocus newsletter offered on the website, you can register for it via the online registration and the so-called “double opt-in” procedure (DOI procedure). This means that following your newsletter registration you will receive an e-mail in which you must confirm your newsletter registration again. This measure is necessary to ensure that a registration is actually lawful and has been made by the owner of an e-mail address.
The processing of your personal data for advertising purposes is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you can revoke at any time. We also send trade fair invitations and promotional information to our customers by email in accordance with Section 7 (3) UWG, provided they have not objected to this (see Lead data section). Here too, you can object to the processing of personal data for advertising purposes at any time (see section Revocation).
Recipients and third country transfers: Depending on the division responsible, emails are sent via the email platform Inxmail or DotDigital. As software operators, Inxmail GmbH, Wentzigerstr. 17, 79106 Freiburg, Germany, and Dotdigital EMEA Limited, No. 1 London Bridge, London, SE1 9BG, United Kingdom, are therefore also recipients of the data. The data collected may be transferred to our country organizations in third countries to enable the mailings controlled from there to be sent.
Storage period: Your personal data will be processed for the above-mentioned purpose until you object to the processing for the purpose of such advertising. Data stored by us for other purposes, such as e-mail addresses for the member area (e.g. MyCoperion), remain unaffected by this.
Profiling: We only use anonymized data to determine the open rates or click rates of our mailings. At no time is this data evaluated on a personal basis.
Revocation: You can object to receiving trade fair invitations, newsletters and promotional information at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of the promotional e-mails we send. Please note that by objecting, you will be removed from all e-mail distribution lists of Coperion and our companies (see also section Data exchange within the Coperion organization).
6 . Data Exchange Within the Coperion Organization
Purpose and legal basis: For the purpose of optimizing our internal processes and creating a uniform database, personal data is exchanged within the Coperion organization. This consists of the following brands: Baker Perkins, Bakon, Coperion, Coperion K-Tron, Diosna, Gabler Engineering, Herbold Meckesheim, Kemutec, Peerless, Raymond Bartlett Snow, Shaffer, Shick Esteve, Unifiller Systems and VMI.
The processing is carried out taking into account your legitimate interests and on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in efficient cooperation and the uniform maintenance of business contacts within the group of companies. Access to personal data is regulated for a specific purpose and based on roles. Data will not be passed on to third parties outside the Group without your consent or another legal basis.
As a consequence of our gradual merging of sales and marketing activities, Coperion sends trade fair invitations, newsletters and promotional information by e-mail to existing customers of the above-mentioned companies if you have consented to the disclosure of your data for use for advertising purposes by the technology brands of Coperion and the receipt of such advertising (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if this is permitted under Section 7 para. 3 UWG (see section inFocus Newsletter and promotional e-mails).
Recipients and third country transfers: The above-mentioned companies belong to Coperion, but are currently separate legal entities. A data processing agreement has been concluded between all companies belonging to Coperion in accordance with applicable EU law. Since Coperion and the acquired companies operate worldwide, data may also be shared with third countries under certain circumstances.
Revocation: You can object to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time by sending an informal email to dataprivacy@coperion.com. You can also object to receiving trade fair invitations, newsletters and advertising information at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of the advertising we send. Please note that by unsubscribing, you will be removed from all e-mail distribution lists of Coperion and our companies (see paragraph inFocus newsletter and advertising e-mails).
7 . Webinars
Purpose and legal basis: Coperion offers customers free webinars that are conducted with the GoToWebinar software from the provider GoTo Technologies, based in the USA. The purpose of these webinars is to provide technical information, train participants and discuss relevant topics. In addition, Coperion processes the data provided via the registration form in the course of the follow-up of the webinar participation, in particular to answer queries, to individually clarify the participants' need for information or advice and to provide further, topic-related content.
The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f) EU-GDPR in a practicable and user-friendly implementation of the webinar, including a good user experience for the purpose of external presentation of the company and in the follow-up of the webinar, which includes answering open questions of the participants as well as the individual clarification of any information and consulting needs with regard to our products. Contact will only be made in relation to the topic of the webinar and only to the extent necessary to answer your questions or to determine your needs.
Recipients and third country transfers: Your personal data, including the questions asked in the webinar, will be provided to the responsible sales employees. Depending on the group of participants in the webinar, the data collected may be transferred to sales staff based at one of our country organizations located outside the EU.
The processing and management of your data is carried out using the Salesforce CRM system. In this context, it cannot be ruled out that personal data may be transferred to third countries or accessed from third countries.
Furthermore, the software provider GoTo Technologies is also the recipient of the data provided by you via the registration form and processes the data on our behalf and exclusively for the purpose of registration and realization of the webinar in question. GoTo Technologies uses end-to-end security measures to protect your data, such as end-to-end encryption using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and 128-bit encryption in accordance with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). No unencrypted information is stored on GoTo Technologies systems.
Storage period: All data relating to the webinar will be automatically deleted no later than 24 months after the webinar in the GoToWebinar dashboard, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it. As our webinars are offered several times a year, keeping participant lists for 24 months enables us to better understand and compare the target group reached.
Profiling: During the webinar, the software automatically records various attention factors of the participants in order to calculate an individual interest rate. This data is manually deleted before being transferred to our lead system and is neither systematically analyzed nor used for profiling purposes.
Revocation: You can object to the use of your personal data for the above-mentioned purposes at any time or request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for the provision of our services or for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an email with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.
8 . Lead Data (e.g. via Campaigns)
Purpose and legal basis: We regularly work with external international publishers via whose platforms we provide content such as webinars, newsletters or specialist articles from Coperion. In order to enable interested parties to access these offers, the respective publishers collect personal data, including name, company affiliation and contact details, as part of their own campaigns. This so-called lead data is transmitted to us by the publisher after completion of the campaign.
We process all personal data transmitted by the publishers on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, in particular for the maintenance and follow-up of business contacts in our lead management system. In addition, we use this data to inform you by e-mail about relevant specialist content, events, trade fairs or new products from Coperion if you have consented to receiving such advertising (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) (see section inFocus newsletter and advertising e-mails).
Recipients and third country transfers: The personal data provided by you in the context of a campaign is first collected by the respective platform (e.g. a publisher) and then transmitted to Coperion in the form of lead data. Access to this data is provided via the central CRM system Salesforce and is restricted to authorized Coperion sales employees as well as external sales partners – including sales intermediaries (e.g. commercial agents).
In this context, it cannot be ruled out that personal data may be transferred to third countries or accessed from third countries.
Storage period: The storage period for lead data is 24 months unless deletion is requested before this period expires.
Profiling: This data will not be merged with other data sources.
Revocation: You can object to the use of your personal data by Coperion at any time or request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for the provision of our services or for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an e-mail with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.
9 . Trade Show Leads
Purpose and legal basis: Coperion regularly participates in international trade fairs, conferences and events to provide information about our technologies and innovations. At the same time, we give interested parties the opportunity to talk to our experts in person.
We collect your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR in order to facilitate the exchange and to send you the requested information material afterwards. The provision of the aforementioned personal data is voluntary and is not required by law or contract. Depending on the event, these are entered by our stand personnel in a mobile lead app and subsequently entered into our lead management system.
Recipients and third country transfers: By handing over your business card, the processing and management of your personal data takes place for the purpose of handling your inquiry via the CRM system Salesforce. As part of our global sales structure, the data provided is forwarded to the relevant sales employees. This may also include recipients within our international country organizations as well as authorized sales employees, including those located outside the European Union (EU), in particular in the United States. In addition, KOMDAT GmbH, based in Germany, as the operator of the lead app, is the recipient of this data.
Storage period: The data is deleted from the lead app after the end of the respective event. All data transferred from the lead app to our lead management system is stored there for 24 months.
Profiling: Classifications are made on the basis of the data (prospective customer, existing customer, area of interest) and sales campaigns are notified (e.g. sending information material, arranging follow-up appointments).
Revocation: You can object to the use of your personal data by Coperion at any time or request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for the provision of our services or for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an e-mail with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.
10 . Contact Forms On The Website
Purpose and legal basis: Coperion provides various registration forms via our website for the purpose of answering customer inquiries and managing event registrations.
Data collected via the Coperion contact form will be entered into a lead management system on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR and used from there to answer your inquiry or your registration and the associated technical administration. If applicable, this data will also be used to inform you by e-mail about relevant specialist content, events, trade fairs or new products from Coperion. This is done on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, or if the sending of advertising is permitted in accordance with § 7 para. 3 UWG (see section inFocus Newsletter and advertising emails).
To protect our contact form from misuse, we also use the Google reCAPTCHA service. By using reCAPTCHA, it is verified whether data is entered by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA processes various information (e.g. IP address, user behaviour, technical information about the browser).
The processing is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in ensuring the security of our website and protecting us against spam and abusive inquiries.
Recipients and third country transfers: When you use our contact form, the personal data you enter is processed for the purpose of handling your inquiry and is managed via the CRM system Salesforce. As part of our global sales structure, the data provided is forwarded to the relevant sales employees. This may also include recipients within our international country organizations as well as authorized sales employees, including those located outside the European Union (EU), in particular in the United States.
To prevent misuse of the contact form, we also use the Google reCAPTCHA service. In this context, personal data (e.g. IP address and technical usage data) is processed.
It therefore cannot be ruled out that, in connection with the use of the contact form, personal data may be transferred to third countries or accessed from such countries both through the use of Salesforce and through Google reCAPTCHA.
Storage period: If a contract is concluded between you and Coperion as a result of contacting us via the contact form, we will check after three years whether we still need your data or whether statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
Profiling: Your data will only be used to process your inquiries. No further analysis of the data in the sense of profiling takes place.
Revocation: You can object to the use of your personal data at any time and request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for the provision of our services or for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an email with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.
You also have the option to object to receiving trade fair invitations, newsletters and promotional information at any time via the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of the advertising we send. We process your personal data in compliance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and all other relevant laws (e.g. BetrVG, AGG, etc.).
The primary purpose of data processing is to establish the employment relationship. The primary legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 para. 1 BDSG. In addition, collective agreements and, if applicable, your separate consents pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 a), 7 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 para. 2 BDSG may be used as a data protection authorization provision if an employment relationship is established between you and Coperion.
We also offer our applicants the opportunity to stay in contact with us as part of our “talent pool”. Your data will be entered and stored with your consent on the basis of Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR and for the purpose of being able to send you job profiles that match your skills in the future.
The provision of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, it is not possible to process the application without this information.
Recipients and third country transfers: Within our company, only those persons and departments (e.g. specialist department, works council, representative body for severely disabled employees) receive your personal data that require it to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations.
In addition, we use various service providers to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. This includes:
Workday, Inc.
6110 Stoneridge Mall Road
Pleasanton, CA 94588 USA
Your personal data is processed by our service providers based outside the EU and also processed by our country organizations in third countries.
Storage period: If you are not hired, your data will be deleted no later than six months after completion of the application process. This period is based on the statutory provisions, in particular to safeguard possible claims under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).
Data will only be stored beyond this period with your consent, for example for inclusion in our applicant pool so that we can contact you at a later date if necessary. In this case, we will store your data for a maximum period of 12 months unless you withdraw your consent beforehand. If you register in our talent pool, we will ask you for further consent to store your data every 11 months. If you do not comply with this request, your data will be automatically deleted after a further 30 days.
In cases where an employment relationship is established, we will store your data for at least the period of employment in order to be able to guarantee the performance of the employment relationship. Should the employment relationship end, all data subject to statutory retention periods will be stored in accordance with these in order to comply with our legal obligations as an employer.
Profiling: The tools we use enable us to screen application documents faster with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Nevertheless, no automated decision-making takes place in our recruiting or application process. Our recruiters are always involved in the review of applications and decide whether an applicant will be considered in the further application process. In addition, (potential) applicants are never compared with each other in an overarching scoring model.
Revocation: You can revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time or request the deletion of your data if it is no longer required for other legitimate purposes. To do so, please send an e-mail with your request to dataprivacy@coperion.com.
