ZSK Mc¹⁸ Twin Screw Extruder

The Coperion ZSK Mc¹⁸ twin screw extruder that will be featured at NPE 2024 is an ideal solution for the current challenges facing the plastics industry – such as recycling plastics or producing bioplastics. With its high specific torque of 18 Nm/cm³, it is especially suited for efficient compounding of plastics at very high throughput rates and with comparatively low energy consumption. The optimum price/performance ratio, the extremely energy-efficient operation, the wide range of applications, and the associated high level of flexibility of the machine are additional advantages.

ZS-B MEGAfeed

Using the innovative, newly developed Coperion ZS-B MEGAfeed, plastic recyclate with a bulk density under 200 kg/m³, long considered intake-limited and thus not worth recycling, can be reliably fed in large quantities into smaller sizes of Coperion’s ZSK twin screw extruders and be concurrently recycled and compounded.

HV 70 Plastcompactor with Silo by Herbold Meckesheim

The HV 70 plastcompactor is the most powerful of the series from Herbold Meckesheim. It processes the feedstock in continuous operation between a rotating and a fixed compactor disk, which are equipped with screwed-on and easily exchangeable kneading bars. Through the center of the stator disc, a stepless adjustable feeding screw continuously transports granulated material from the buffer silo into the working zone in a controlled manner. Since the rapidly warmed up material leaves the compactor zone within fractions of a second, the thermal impact on the plastic is very low. The process is regulated by two degrees of freedom – both by the speed of the screw and by the distance between the disks.

Recycling System - Simulation

Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim realize entire plants for plastics recycling. From mechanical processing – shredding, washing, separating, drying and agglomerating of plastics – to bulk material handling as well as feeding and extrusion all the way to compounding and pelletizing, our systems cover the entire process chain for reclaiming plastics. Coperion and Herbold Meckesheim achieve solutions for mechanical recycling of post-industrial and post-consumer waste, chemical recycling, solvent-based recycling, and deodorization, tailored to the type of plastic being recycled. Together, we will be showing a PET recycling plant simulation at our booth, demonstrating our expertise in numerous plastics recycling processes. Booth visitors can look directly into entire process steps and view the construction and functionality of key technologies.

MechaTron ® Flat Bottom (FB) Feeder by Schenck Process FPM

The MechaTron® Flat Bottom (FB) is a high capacity stainless steel feeder designed specifically for handling materials with light and fluffy characteristics. With a bottom driven vertical agitator and an auxiliary agitator, the MechaTron FB is perfect for hard to feed materials such as chopped polypropylene or PET plastic film when feeding to an extruder.
