Unlike traditional swim-sink tanks, the Hydrocyclone Stage uses powerful centrifugal forces to achieve a precise separation of materials.

Exchangeable nozzle sizes allow fine-tuning for optimal results, while high turbulence and friction create an additional washing effect. Its advanced design thus not only improves the purity of recycled plastics, but also extends the lifespan of downstream equipment, reducing operational costs.

ZSK FilCo Filtration Compounder

For the recycling of post-consumer recyclate (PCR) or heavily contaminated polymers, Coperion presents the cutting-edge ZSK FilCo filtration compounder, which enables both filtration and compounding in a single production step.

In the ZSK FilCo system, waste plastic is fed into a ZSK twin screw extruder, where it undergoes melting, homogenization, and devolatilization. The material melt is then passed through a filter to eliminate contaminants before being returned to the same ZSK extruder for compounding with reinforcing ingredients or fillers.

Unlike traditional two-step production lines, Coperion’s ZSK FilCo features a significantly more streamlined equipment configuration. This system reduces energy consumption and emissions during the extrusion process by over 50%. Additionally, the ZSK FilCo achieves a notably higher quality of the final product.

ZS-B MEGAfeed Side Feeder

The Coperion ZS-B MEGAfeed side feeder revolutionizes plastic recycling, taking it to unprecedented heights. This innovative side feeding unit enhances the cost-effectiveness of recycling lightweight, highly voluminous flakes and fibers, making it feasible in situations where it was previously not possible.

Thanks to its innovative design, the ZS-B MEGAfeed can reliably process plastic recyclate with bulk densities starting as low as 20 kg/m³ – materials that were once considered too challenging to recycle economically. This allows for the efficient feeding of large quantities into the ZSK twin screw extruder – resulting in significantly higher throughput rates for both mechanical and chemical recycling.

The Coperion K-Tron K3 series of vibratory feeders stands out for its innovative drive technology. It is perfect for the gentle handling of various bulk solid materials, particularly challenging materials such as flakes or glass fibers. 

Feed rates for the V200 range from 8 to 4000 dm³/h (0.28 to 141 ft³/h)

Coperion K-Tron S60 Single Screw Feeder

The S60 single screw feeder is perfectly suited for handling free-flowing bulk materials like pellets and powders. It is available in both volumetric and gravimetric configurations, offering options for a platform scale or a three-point suspension scale. The feeding system is designed for easy disassembly, facilitating maintenance. The feeder screw can be easily swapped out for convenience. 

Feed rates for the S60 range from 0.14 to 4404 dm³/h (0.005 to 155 ft³/h).

MechaTron® FB Feeder

The MechaTron® FB Feeder is an exceptional choice for feeding plastic flakes, glass or carbon fibers, as well as other virgin or recycled materials used in plastic recycling and compounding applications.

Its flat bottom design, featuring vertical hopper walls and a bottom-driven agitator, ensures optimal mass flow and maximizes screw fill, effectively accommodating cohesive materials.

Mobile Unit for Reducing Plastic Pellet and Recyclate Odor

If the plastic pellets produced create undesirable odors, these can be reliably removed using deodorization equipment from Coperion. In order to optimize such deodorizing equipment’s specification and to individually determine its operational parameters, Coperion provides onsite tests using a mobile unit for reducing plastic pellet and recyclate odor at customers’ production facilities. Using this solution with freshly produced product and under actual production conditions, the possibilities for reducing recyclate odor can be thoroughly investigated, and system parameters to achieve desired product quality can be defined on location.
