With the EcoFresh silo degassing system, Coperion offers a powerful solution for the reliable deodorization of recycled plastic pellets – delivering higher quality, improved sustainability and greater cost efficiency.

Innovative Silo Degassing for Highest Recyclate Quality

EcoFresh combines the process steps of heating, purging, and cooling in a compact dual-silo system. The plant consists of a deodorizing silo and a downstream cooling silo, arranged in series. This allows for continuous processing of the recycling material, ensuring highly efficient operation. In addition, EcoFresh is also available for batch processes. It can be installed flexibly either inside or outside the production building.

Perfect Synergy with the ZSK Twin Screw Extruder

EcoFresh demonstrates outstanding performance when combined with the Coperion ZSK twin screw extruder.
In the extruder, the recyclate is first melted, intensively mixed, homogenized, and degassed. With the help of stripping agents, up to 75% of the volatile components are reliably removed in this process step. EcoFresh then performs the thermal post-treatment and removes the remaining VOCs.

The result is high-quality, odor-optimized recyclates with significantly expanded application possibilities.

Testing Recycling Processes Under Real Conditions

Recyclers can evaluate the deodorizing performance of EcoFresh and the ZSK twin screw extruder at the Coperion Recycling Innovation Center. Both technologies are available there for comprehensive testing using actual material streams.

In combination with the Herbold Meckesheim Test Center, where shredding and washing of input materials takes place, Coperion can map the entire recycling process across its Test Centers.
