Premix Hits Ground Running With State-of-the-Art Compounding Plant

Premix’s new automated compounding plant in USA, dedicated to conductive polyolefin compounds for pipettes and other demanding applications, builds on successful collaboration and process development work previously carried out with Premix in Finland.

The relationship began with early trials on a ZSK 34 twin screw extruder in 2013, followed by the commissioning of a ZSK 54 in Finland in 2014 for semiconductive PP compounds. As Premix’s requirements evolved, Coperion continued to support the team with process trials and technical development, including work on a ZSK 62. These efforts helped further improve product quality and process stability, especially in melting behavior and output performance.

This long-term cooperation, combined with strong process support and dedicated service from Coperion teams, helped earn Premix’s confidence for its U.S. expansion ─ even in a competitive environment. The result is a state-of-the-art plant equipped with two Coperion ZSK twin screw extruders, Combiflow blenders, and complete feeding, conveying, and material handling systems.
