The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), within its AMS - Dairy Program, has certified all sizes (DN 65, 80, 100, 125 and 150) of the WYK-CIP (Clean-In-Place) valve in accordance with current USDA guidelines. Consequently, the valve can be used for hygienic applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries with superb results. This certification confirms in particular that the WYK valve completely fulfills the strict requirements for good cleanability and dismantling.

Improved WYK-CIP Diverter Valve Certified by USDA in All Sizes
For the Highest Hygienic Demands in the Food and Pharma Industries.
The proven Coperion WYK valve has been optimized in numerous ways: In comparison to the previous model, gaskets on the rotor achieve complete sealing of the conveying channels. Further design features include product-contacting gaskets to prevent gaps between parts, large radius in the housing geometry, and drainage at the deepest point in the housing. These changes further increase the WYK valve’s cleanability, making the CIP version ideally suited for fully automated clean-in-place applications. Laboratory evaluations of the cleaning results have shown that the valve is completely clean on the inside following the fully automated cleaning process. In practice, an inspection of the valve following cleaning in accordance with USDA regulations is recommended and required to validate the result.
The housing, rotor, side cover, and nozzles are made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4404 (316L); the polished, product-contacting areas demonstrate a surface quality of Ra<=0.8µm. All gasket materials meet FDA and EU 1935/2004 requirements. For individual customer requirements, Coperion offers a variety of hygienic pipe connections such as DIN 11864-1 screw connections or DIN 32676 tri-clamp connections.
New: WYK Diverter Valve Now in Non-CIP “WYK Standard” Version
For areas of application where CIP cleaning is not required, but stainless steel materials are requested, Coperion offers the WYK diverter valve in a non-CIP version — the “WYK Standard” — effective immediately. This version does away with the fully automated cleaning function and is operated laterally using a rotary actuator. Other construction details and surfaces are identical to those of the WYK CIP.
The diverter valve is available in both versions — WYK-CIP and WYK Standard — in sizes DN65 (2 ½”), DN80 (3”), DN100 (4”), DN125 (5”) and DN150 (6”).
