Additional System Accessories

Dry Bulk Storage Tanks

Storage tanks can be either bolted tanks or welded tanks and can be over 60 m [200 ft] tall. They can store such materials as cement, wood chips, grain, sulfur, flower, sugar and more.

Bin Unloaders

The standard outlet of the Coperion K-Tron bin unloader matches the Coperion K-Tron Aerolock rotary valve flange pattern. Standard materials of construction include carbon steel with epoxy-coated interior and a prime painted exterior.

Fluidizer Beds

Fluidizer Beds are designed for applications on tank hoppers having 1.5 m [5 ft] diameter discharge openings.

Fluidization of dry, finely ground, aeratable bulk materials such as flour, starch, cement and hydrated lime is promoted by introducing low pressure air into the stored material.

Rotating Level Indicators

Coperion K-Tron offers a variety of level indicators and other inventory control mechanisms for use in storage tanks, receivers, and surge bins.

Level Indicators & Alarms

Proximity level switches detect the presence of material in a hopper or bin. They work on a capacitance basis and are capable of detecting most materials that are commonly handled pneumatically, including most chemicals, plastics and foods.

The vibrating rod is a vibration type point level control that detects high and low material level in bins, silos and hoppers.

The low level alarm is intended to be mounted on a machine hopper for indication of an emergency low level condition.

Probes & Probe Boxes

Coperion K-Tron’s Vacuum Probes and Probe Boxes provide a cost effective take-away device at the source of vacuum conveying systems, for free flowing materials.

Probe Boxes provide a simple take-away at the bottom of a silo, tank, or hopper. Most often, a maintenance gate is first bolted to the bottom flange of a silo or hopper, then a probe box. Then Horizontal Probes of various sizes can be attached to the Probe Box, and the probe is connected directly to the vacuum conveying line. Vertical Probes are usually attached to the conveying system with flexible hose so that the probe can be inserted into a box or drum of material.

Deflection Bend GAMMA-BEND NT

The Coperion GAMMA-BEND NT was especially developed for dilute-phase conveying of pellets. The deflector elbow effectively prevents the formation of angel hair, which would otherwise be generated particularly in critical, right-angled direction changes.

The special geometric design of the bend keeps the pellets from sliding against the exterior wall, thus preventing the development of angel hair.

The GAMMA-BEND NT can be used universally in conveying systems, as there is no buildup of product cushions and thus always consistently empties with no residue. This is of vial importance, particularly for product changes.

Coperion Mixer MIX-A-LOT

Bulk Material Mixer MIX-A-LOT

The new mechanical bulk material mixer MIX-A-LOT ensures particularly efficient, high-speed and gentle homogenization of fed material. The readily accessible and easy to clean mixer is available in three sizes for throughput rates up to 5 t/h, there is also an ATEX version. The surface of the mixing chamber can be electro polished.

The combination of an outstanding mixing effect and extremely short mixing time is due to the optimized design of the mixing rotor. Its low circumferential velocities and the optimum design of the gap to the housing, permit gentle handling without particle destruction or heating of the product. The large inspection door on the front of the MIX-A-LOT provides easy access to the entire process chamber. An additional opening at the discharge flap also facilitates inspection and cleaning of this section.
